Islamabad: Passengers travelling through airports in Pakistan will have to undergo biometric verification as part of the enhanced security measures taken by the Ministry of of Interior.

The government has decided to enhance border security by installing biometric machines at all airports across the country. The Ministry of Interior has directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take immediate action regarding the installation of these machines.

The initiative will make it nearly impossible for fugitives and wanted criminals to travel domestically or internationally. Biometric machines will be installed at international immigration counters in airports to ensure effective passenger verification.

E-Gates

Recently, France’s experts also visited Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore airports for the installation of E-gates.

The installation of E-gates would help passengers complete their immigration process by scanning their passports at the E-gates without the need to queue up at the immigration counters.
